  • Guzi (HUN) seeks back-to-back gold medals on home soil
  • Mohamed (EGY) returns from injury in hope of repeating 2025 win
  • Egypt, France, Hungary and Korea qualify maximum six athletes

MONACO: June 22, 2026 – UIPM has announced the 72 athletes from 21 countries around the world who will compete in the UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Final (June 26-28).

The line-up for the showpiece competition, held in Budapest (HUN), includes women’s world No.1 Blanka Guzi of Hungary and men’s world champion Moutaz Mohamed of Egypt.

Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medallists Seungmin Seong of Korea and Giorgio Malan of Italy will also be chasing glory as the Pentathlon elite returns to the BOK Sports Centre in the Hungarian capital.

It has been an intriguing second season of Obstacle integration in top-level Pentathlon, with all gold medals won by athletes who were prominent contenders in the pre-Obstacle era.

Guzi (HUN) will be seeking back-to-back wins having dominated with two women’s gold medals either side of a career-first Pentathlon World Cup win for Ilke Ozyuksel of Türkiye. On that occasion, in Pazardzhik (BUL), Guzi (HUN) claimed silver.

Meanwhile the season-opening success of Mohamed (EGY) on the men’s side was followed by victories for Changwan Seo (KOR) and Marvin Dogue of Germany. Mohamed (EGY), last season’s Pentathlon World Cup Final winner, has recovered from injury to resume his quest for world domination having not been beaten in a Final in more than a year.

It will be intriguing to see which of the top-form athletes peaks in the World Cup Final, and whether Obstacle world record-holder Mohamed El Ashqar (EGY) can hold on to – or even improve – his mark.

Four nations – Egypt, France, Hungary and Korea – can celebrate a job well done over the three Pentathlon World Cup legs, resulting in the maximum six athletes qualified. The late withdrawal of Csaba Bohm means Hungary’s final number of participants will be five.

The UIPM 2026 Pentathlon World Cup Final will start with the Women’s Semi-finals on June 26, followed by Men’s Semi-finals on June 27 and culminating with Finals on July 28. All the action can be watched live on UIPM’s YouTube channel.
