Global Laser-Run City Tour 2018: Buzz grows in Guatemala City (GUA)
The growth of the UIPM Sports movement in Guatemala has been one of the success stories of UIPM development in recent years and the Central American country has taken to Laser-Run with the same degree of enthusiasm as Modern Pentathlon.
Three 2018 Global Laser-Run City Tours are taking place in the capital, Guatemala City, in 2018 and the second instalment was on July 7 at the American Swiss College.
A total of 291 entrants took part in the races, arranged by the Guatemala Pentathlon Association and supported by local commercial sponsors and by the Guatemala Sports Authority (CDAG).
Ana Ruth Orellana, Secretary General of Guatemalan Federation said: “With these events the Guatemala Pentathlon Association looks to generate a buzz around modern pentathlon and find new talent.
“We look forward to the final date of the Laser-Run circuit of Guatemala City to be held on October in Cayalá City by the National Association.”
The UIPM Global Laser-Run City Tour was created in 2017 to deliver an exciting, dynamic and fun competition to participants of all ages and offer them an entry point to UIPM Sports.
The Global LRCT took place in parks, stadiums and iconic urban venues in 60 cities around the world in 2017, with more than 15,000 participants. There are about 100 events scheduled in 2018.
