UIPM News

Four continental representatives have been elected to the UIPM Athletes Committee, which now stands as a five-strong body for the next Olympic cycle with only two positions remaining unfilled.

The four who won the support of their continental peers are Haydy Morsy of Egypt (Africa), Valentin Prades of France (Europe), Genevieve Janse van Rensburg of Australia (Oceania) and Danilo Fagundes of Brazil (South America).

The quartet will represent the athlete community across the UIPM Sports spectrum between 2025 and 2028 alongside Samuel Curry of Great Britain, who won the first spot as global representative elected during the UIPM 2024 Pentathlon and Laser Run World Championships, and representatives from Asia and NORCECA to be confirmed in due course.

The current Athletes Committee, chaired by Yasser Hefny (EGY), finishes its remit at the end of 2024. The new AC will elect its Chair once it is fully composed.
