UIPM 2018 Pentathlon World Championships: Women's Individual Finalists
Reigning champion Gulnaz Gubaydullina of Russia will defend her crown in the Women’s Individual Final of the UIPM 2018 Pentathlon World Cup Championships after coming through qualifying today.
The world No.4 will join the 2016 world champion and world No.2, Sarolta Kovacs of Hungary, in the final on September 12 after they claimed two of the 36 available places.
European champion Marie Oteiza and Elodie Clouvel of France, Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist and world No.8, also qualified for the final - as did the 2018 Asian Games champion, Zhang Mingyu of China.
A total of 67 athletes took part in qualifying in Mexico City’s Pentathlon Stadium at the Campo Marte sports complex.
The UIPM 2018 Pentathlon World Championships run until September 13. The action continues tomorrow (September 11) with qualifying for the Men’s Final.
