UIPM 2019 Global Laser Run City Tour: Four cities, one common goal in Argentina

Argentina ended 2019 with a flurry of Laser Run activity, with a series of four Global Laser Run City Tours in different cities.

The sequence began in San Martin, in the province of Buenos Aires, where more than 300 pupils attend an Institute which includes a sports school, enabling talent to be developed from a young age.

Next up was an event in the city of Apostoles, in the province of Misiones, where another sports school has been founded for the recruitment of athletic talent.

The series continued in the city of Salta, where organisers connected with athletic associations that have a great enthusiasm to start practising Laser Run and where several athletes have been identified as candidates for the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2022.

The year ended in the beautiful city of Mar del Plata, a seaside resort with sea and beaches and where there was an excellent attendance with support from the Argentine Army. A number of participants received medals.

The Global Laser Run City Tour was created in 2017 to provide an entry point to UIPM Sports for people of all ages in urban communities around the world.

Since then, tens of thousands of athletes of all ages have competed in venues across all continents.

The UIPM Laser Run World Championships was born in 2015 and in August 2020 it will be combined for the first time with the UIPM Biathle-Triathle World Championships, in Weiden (GER).
