UIPM 2019 Global Laser Run City Tour: What a difference a year makes in Lahore (PAK)
Signs of clear progression were in evidence as the city of Lahore hosted its second Global Laser Run City Tour at the Punjab Football Stadium on April 4, 2019.
A total of 320 athletes took part in the first GLRCT of 2019 in South Asia, arranged by the Pakistan Modern Pentathlon Federation (PMPF).
A spokesperson for the local organising committee said: “There was a much better response from the participating athletes compared to last year. Athletes participated with more strength.
“The whole event was very well disciplined and well organized, and many good athletes came up with better results.
“The technical officials also worked very hard for the successful conduct of the event and we look forward to hosting the UIPM Global Laser Run City Tour again in future.”
The Global Laser Run City Tour was created in 2017 to provide an entry point to UIPM Sports for people of all ages in urban communities around the world.
Another 100 cities have been selected in 2019 as hosts of the GLRCT or the Biathle/Triathle National Tour. At the UIPM website you can find the calendar and more information on UIPM’s various multi-discipline sports.
In September, the UIPM Laser Run World Championships will be incorporated into the Pentathlon World Championships for the first time in Budapest (HUN), where Laser Run is also on the programme for the 1st World Urban Games.
In December, Laser Run and Triathle will both feature for the first time in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in the Philippines.
