UIPM 2022 Pentathlon World Championships: Men’s Qualification
The UIPM 2022 Pentathlon World Championships continued today with 70 athletes taking part in the men’s qualification round.
Among the successful qualifiers were Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games gold medallist Joseph Choong of Great Britain, silver medallist Ahmed Elgendy of Egypt and bronze medallist Woongtae Jun of Korea, along with two-time world champion Valentin Belaud and three-time Pentathlon World Cup winner Valentin Prades of France.
Other athletes who might feature prominently in the Semi-finals include Jinhwa Jung (KOR), Germany brothers Patrick and Marvin Dogue, Hungary team-mates Csaba Bohm, Balasz Szep and Bence Demeter, Martin Vlach and Jan Kuf of Czech Republic, Linbin Zhang of China and Taishu Sato of Japan.
The Pentathlon World Championships continues tomorrow (July 27) with the Women's Qualification Semi-finals, followed by the Semi-finals on July 28/29, the Finals on July 30 and the Mixed Relay on July 31.
