UIPM 2024 Pentathlon World Championships: Women’s Qualification

The UIPM 2024 Pentathlon World Championships continued today with 72 athletes taking part in the Women’s Individual Qualification.

With 36 places in the Semi-finals on offer, and many athletes still seeking points for their Olympic qualification goals, competition was fierce.

Among the successful qualifiers were Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Kate French of Great Britain, Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist Elodie Clouvel of France and the recent winner of the UIPM 2024 Pentathlon World Cup Final, Gintare Venckauskaite of Lithuania.

The first athlete across the line in Qualification Group A was Michelle Gulyas of Hungary with the day’s top score of 1,096 points, followed by Marlena Jawaid of Sweden and 2018 world champion Anastasiya Prokopenko (AIN).

Clouvel (FRA) was followed across the line in Qualification Group B by Rita Erdos (HUN) and then Laura Heredia of Spain.

The UIPM 2024 Pentathlon World Championships continues tomorrow (June 12) with the Men's Qualification, followed by the Semi-finals on June 13-14, the Finals on June 15 and the Mixed Relay on June 16.
