UIPM 2024 Pentathlon World Cup Cairo: Women’s Qualification
UIPM 2024 Pentathlon World Cup Cairo began today with 82 athletes taking part in the Women’s Qualification.
Among the successful qualifiers were London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic champions Laura Asaudauskaite of Lithuania and Kate French of Great Britain, 2022 and 2023 world champion Elena Micheli of Italy, Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist Elodie Clouvel of France and 2018 world champion Anastasiya Prokopenko (AIN).
The first athletes across the line in Qualification Group A were Mariya Gnedtchik (AIN), Amira Kandil of Egypt and Annika Zillekens of Germany.
The top performers in Qualification Group B were Seungmin Seong of Korea, Ilke Ozyuksel of Türkiye and Ieva Serapinaite (LTU).
In Qualification Group C, the standout performers were Marlena Jawaid of Sweden, Kerenza Bryson (GBR) and Sunwoo Kim (KOR).
Pentathlon World Cup Cairo continues tomorrow (March 6) with the Men's Qualification, followed by the Semi-finals on March 7-8, the Finals on March 9 and the Mixed Relay on March 10.
