Laser-Run City Tour inspires development call in Pune

Laser Run

India’s 2nd Laser-Run City Tour was organized in the city of Pune on June 17, 2017 by Maharashtra Modern Pentathlon Association under the aegis of Modern Pentathlon Federation of INDIA (MPFI).

The venue was Sanas Ground, a city centre venue with a synthetic 8-lane 400m track. A total of 212 athletes took part in age groups from Under-11 to Masters (50+). The crowd enjoyed the spectacle of laser shooting combined with running as much as the athletes thrived on the competition.

Ms Mukta Tilak, Mayor of Pune City, was a special guest and after watching the event she congratulated the winners and asked local organizations to support and develop the concept of Laser-Run in the state, in order to engage them in the pursuit of physical fitness and sporting progression. Many parents immediately responded enthusiastically with encouragement for their children to build Laser-Run into their sporting lives.

Laser-Run City Tour is a new concept created in 2017 to showcase Laser-Run to a global audience and give more and more athletes worldwide an introduction to UIPM Sports, starting them on a road that can ultimately lead to the Olympic Games.
