UIPM 2023 Pentathlon World Cup Budapest: Women’s Qualification

UIPM 2023 Pentathlon World Cup Budapest began today with 70 athletes taking part in the Women’s Qualification.

The top-scoring athlete of the day (1,109 points) and first across the line in Qualification Group A was world No.1 Michelle Gulyas of Hungary, followed by team-mates Blanka Bauer (HUN)and Kamilla Reti (HUN).

The best performer in Qualification Group B was European champion Charlie Follett of Great Britain with a mass bunch finishing 1sec behind her.

Also among the successful qualifiers were world champion Elena Micheli of Italy, Lithuania duo Laura Asadauskaite and Ieva Serapinaite, Ilke Ozyuksel of Türkiye, Mariana Arceo of Mexico and Salma Abdelmaksoud of Egypt.

Pentathlon World Cup Budapest continues tomorrow (April 26) with the Men's Qualification, followed by the Semi-finals on April 27-28, the Finals on April 29 and the Mixed Relay on April 30.
