UIPM 2023 Pentathlon World Cup Sofia: Women’s Qualification
UIPM 2023 Pentathlon World Cup Sofia began today with 58 athletes taking part in the Women’s Qualification.
The top-scoring athlete of the day (1,077 points) and first across the line in Qualification Group A was two-time junior world champion Sunwoo Kim of Korea, followed by team-mates Janine Kohlmann and Annika Zillekens of Germany and European champion Charlie Follett of Great Britain.
The best performers in Qualification Group B were Yufei Bian of China and Mariana Arceo of Mexico, followed by team-mates Seungmin Seong (KOR) and Sehee Kim (KOR).
Also among the successful qualifiers were Elodie Clouvel of France, Lithuania trio Laura Asadauskaite, Ieva Serapinaite and Gintare Venckauskaite, Blanka Guzi of Hungary and Jessica Varley (GBR).
Pentathlon World Cup Sofia continues tomorrow (May 10) with the Men's Qualification, followed by the Semi-finals on May 11-12, the Finals on May 13 and the Mixed Relay on May 14.
