World Academy of Sport scholarships support pentathletes with educational and career opportunities

UIPM is proud to announce the eighth round of scholarships for pentathletes, enabling them to pursue an online qualification in Sport Management from the prestigious University of London (UoL). This initiative is part of a Memorandum of Understanding between UIPM and the World Academy of Sport (WAoS), which began in 2020.

Applications are now open for the September 2024 intake of the Postgraduate Certificate in International Sports Management. The scholarships available are:

* One Full Scholarship valued at £4,291

* Five 25% Postgraduate Certificate Scholarships valued at £1,073 each

The deadline for scholarship applications is 26 July 2024, and interested applicants can apply by downloading the application form.

Athlete student Mohamed Ibrahim of Egypt, who finished 4th in the UIPM 2023 Pentathlon Junior World Championships, said: “The course has been an enriching experience. The PGCert Programme is fully online and self-paced, with six modules that can be completed in one to five years. Modular learning enables students to take individual modules to complement existing skills or fulfil specific roles. And as this is a globally recognised qualification, credits from the certificate can be applied toward a Masters degree.

To enrol, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

- An undergraduate degree from an acceptable institution.

- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in sports management.

- Other qualifications, such as professional awards, may be considered.

Additionally, applicants must have access to a computer and the internet, and be able to demonstrate a certain level of English language ability. More requirements and application documents are available here.
