73rd UIPM Congress: Candidates stand for election in record numbers

• Three candidates in contention for UIPM President and 12 for Vice-President
• Total of 65 candidates exceeds all previous electoral Congresses
• Historic Congress will take place in Riyadh (KSA) on November 16 and 17

The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) today publishes the list of candidates who will be eligible for election in the 73rd UIPM Congress in Riyadh (KSA) on November 16 and 17, 2024.

The list includes three candidates who are standing for the role of UIPM President, which will be vacated by Dr Klaus Schormann at the end of 2024, and 12 candidates for the five UIPM Vice-President positions.

At least two Vice Presidents will be newly elected. There will also be newcomers in the Executive Board positions for Sport, Marketing and Media. All terms of service begin in January 2025, and UIPM’s new term limits will come into effect for all those elected.

The total number of 65 candidates sets a new record for an electoral UIPM Congress. The previous high was 58 in 2016.
