64th UIPM Congress Heads South to Buenos Aires

The 2012 UIPM Congress is about to take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 19-20 October 2012.

Delegates from all continents, will attend the 64th UIPM congress, which all Executive Board Members and committees are up for re-election for their next 4 year terms.

UIPM President Dr h.c. Klaus Schormann stated: "UIPM is proud and happy, that we could finish our process of modernising our sport in the year 2012 which was our 100 year anniversary of being in the Olympic Games. This 64th congress will focus mainly on development and the important steps linked to the next Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and on promotional activities for our wonderful, historical sport."

There are several key motions being proposed by the UIPM Executive Board to continue the development of the sport to continue its substantial international growth achieved in the past 4 years.

The Congress will also act as a celebration of the highly successful 2012 London Olympic Games, which Modern Pentathlon received a record amount of media attention and attendance at the 100 years of Modern Pentathlon being within the Olympic movement.
