Applications are invited for the post of Modern Pentathlon Coach with Pentathlon Ireland. Pentathlon Ireland is the National Governing Body for the Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon which is made up of five disciplines; fencing, swimming show jumping running and shooting. Pentathlon Ireland is responsible for both the High Performance Programme (HPP) and the grass roots participation in the sport. The HPP enjoyed huge success at the London 2012 Olympic Games and is currently building on the road to Rio 2016 and beyond. Pentathlon Ireland is now seeking a World Class Pentathlon coach to take current and emerging athletes to a higher performance level and realise ambitions of winning medals on a world stage.
Role:
Working together with the High Performance Director, the aim of this role is to oversee the training programmes for athletes in the HPP and will be responsible for fencing, running and shooting training programmes and oversee swimming and riding phases during competitions and training camps. This coach will also be required to feed into both coach education initiatives and talent development structures within Ireland.

This is a 12 month contract position. It is envisaged that this role will cover approximately 240 days, including domestic and international training and competition. The exact make up of this contract will be agreed between Pentathlon Ireland and the successful candidate in accordance with the aims of the HPP.
