Timor-Leste organizes its first ever Laser-Run demonstration
As part of the recent Sport for Life Youth Leadership Camp, and with special support from the UIPM, SportImpact, a social enterprise that promotes human development through sports, organized a Laser-Run demonstration for the first time ever in Dili, Timor-Leste.
The activities took place at Jardin de Borja, in Dili, the capital city of Timor-Leste, during a multi-sport event including a dozen of other sports, all played non-competitively. Over 400 people took part in the event, mostly school boys and girls of ages 10 to 15.
Laser Shooting was a huge success, with a crowd of kids practicing continuously for long hours and anxiously asking at the end when they could practice again. In this first experiment, facilitators’ focus was on enforcing safety and peace, therefore transmitting positive values of Modern Pentathlon.
SportImpact appreciates the support from the UIPM, who offered the set of laser pistols and targets that enabled the initiative.
