Volunteers scene blossoming in Cairo

In Egypt, volunteering in Modern Pentathlon is clearly on the rise after the success of the 2016 UIPM Junior World Championships.

The event was supported by 80 Egyptian volunteers and three from overseas, and they worked in areas including transportation, airport assistance, media, VIP and protocol, logistics and team liaison.

Klaus Schormann said: “The volunteer movement is a strong pillar for all competitions worldwide and once again the volunteers in Egypt have shown their importance at the UIPM 2016 Junior World Championships. In 2017 the World Championships will be massive in Cairo and we are sure to find here this same keenness to host this event too. The volunteers deserve our special thanks!"
