UIPM 2019 Global Laser Run City Tour: Laser Run gets a taste of Olympics in Colorado Springs (USA)

Laser Run

One of the fundamental purposes of Laser Run is to give aspiring pentathletes their first step on the pathway towards the Olympic Games.

So it was fitting that the final Global Laser Run City Tour of 2019 in the United States should take place at the home of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Laser Run enthusiasts flocked to compete in high-quality facilities where the USA’s high-performance pentathletes frequently train.

The success of the venture confirmed the nationwide interest in UIPM’s most popular development sport following events earlier in 2019 in Davis, California and Hunt, Texas.

A spokesperson for the local organizing committee said: “We are pleased with the event both in terms of organization and also participation. The competition was fierce and highlighted the nature of Laser Run within the United States.”

The Global Laser Run City Tour was created in 2017 to provide an entry point to UIPM Sports for people of all ages in urban communities around the world.

Since then, tens of thousands of athletes of all ages have competed in venues across all continents.

The UIPM Laser Run World Championships was born in 2015 and in August 2020 it will be combined for the first time with the UIPM Biathle-Triathle World Championships, in Weiden (GER).
