UIPM 2021 Pentathlon World Cup Sofia (I): Women’s Finalists
UIPM 2021 Pentathlon World Cup Sofia (I) got under way today with 82 athletes taking part in the qualification round for the Women's Final.
Among the successful qualifiers were London 2012 Olympic champion Laura Asadauskaite of Lithuania, Rio 2016 Olympic medallists Elodie Clouvel of France and Oktawia Nowacka of Poland and the gold and silver medallists from UIPM 2021 Pentathlon World Cup Budapest, Kate French and Joanna Muir of Great Britain.
Former world champions Anastasiya Prokopenko of Belarus and Gulnaz Gubaydullina of Russia will also compete for medals on Friday, while 13-year-old phenomenon Natsu Ohta of Japan maintained her 100% record of qualification for finals in her second senior competition.
The first of two back-to-back Pentathlon World Cups in Sofia (BUL) continues tomorrow (April 8) with the Men's Qualification, followed by the Women’s Final, Men’s Final and Mixed Relay over the next three days.
