UIPM 2022 Pentathlon World Championships: Women’s Qualification
The UIPM 2022 Pentathlon World Championships continued today with 72 athletes taking part in the women’s qualification round.
All of the world’s top-ranked nine athletes qualified safely for the Semi-finals, led by Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallist and world No.1, Elodie Clouvel of France.
Other athletes expected to feature prominently in the Semi-finals include UIPM 2022 Pentathlon World Cup gold medallists Jessica Varley of Great Britain, Ieva Serapinaite of Lithuania, Michelle Gulyas of Hungary and Elena Micheli of Italy.
Host nation Egypt will be represented in the Semi-finals by Salma Abdelmaksoud and Amira Kandil while Great Britain and Hungary each qualified four athletes.
The Pentathlon World Championships continues tomorrow (July 28) with the Men's Semi-finals, followed by the Women’s Semi-finals on July 29, the Finals on July 30 and the Mixed Relay on July 31.
