UIPM 2023 Pentathlon World Cup Ankara: Men’s Qualification

UIPM 2023 Pentathlon World Cup Ankara continued today with 81 athletes taking part in the Men’s Qualification.

Among the successful qualifiers were Tokyo 2020 Olympic medallists Joseph Choong of Great Britain, Ahmed Elgendy of Egypt and Woongtae Jun of Korea, as well as two-time world champion Valentin Belaud of France.

The top-scoring athlete of the day (1,196 points) and first across the line in Qualification Group A was Oleksandr Tovkai of Ukraine, followed by Esteban Bustos of Chile and Shuhuan Li of China.

The standout performer in Qualification Group B was Alexandre Dallenbach of Switzerland, with Jun (KOR) and Giorgy Boroda-Dudochkin of Kazakhstan crossing the line behind him.

Finishing first in Group C to seal his Semi-final place was Changwan Seo (KOR), followed by Tidor Mihalev of Bulgaria and Emiliano Hernandez of Mexico.

Pentathlon World Cup Ankara continues tomorrow (April 13) with the Women’s Semi-finals, followed by the Men’s Semi-finals on April 14, the Finals on April 15 and the Mixed Relay on April 16.
