The UIPM 2023 U19 World Championships continued today with athletes taking part in the Men’s Individual Qualification in Istanbul (TUR).
The 12 best performers across each of three qualification groups earned passage to Saturday’s Men’s Final. With 1,420 points Mohamed Hassan of Egypt won the first group alongside team-mate Mohamed Sherif (EGY) in fourth with Matteo Bovenzi of Italy and Etienne Clergeau of France also impressing.
The second group was dominated by Korea’s Juchan Lee, top scorer with 1,423 points, 15 more than Lukas Gaudiesius of Lithuania with Lee’s compatriot Hanseo Cho of Korea not far behind.
There was joy for the host nation when Kivanc Tasyaran of Turkey posted the days’s highest score with 1,468 points to lead the third and final group after a griping battle with Bartosz Szmytke of Poland. Turkey will have three competitors in the final on Saturday.

The best Obstacle performer on Wednesday was Italy’s Denis Agravriloaie, who finished in a scintillating 00:25.49.
